Avoid outdoor burning on May 1

With sunshine, breezy conditions, and a high around 80, Tuesday will be a great day for many things outdoors. But, outdoor burning is NOT one of them. Any fires sparked will spread rapidly due to the winds and dry atmospheric conditions.

Smokers should also be careful with how they dispose of cigarette butts and other smoking materials.  Those, too, could cause fires to spark and spread under these current conditions.

Our fire potential may continue to be high on Wednesday before rain returns to the area late in the day with more rain coming on Thursday.
