2 hurt in crash along I-69 near Gas City

GAS CITY, Ind. (WANE) — A crash on Interstate 69 just north of Gas City shut down the interstate and left two people hurt.

Police and medics were called around 10:45 a.m. to a crash near the 262 milemarker, between Gas City and Marion, on a report of a crash.

According to an Indiana State Police report, Taylor Young, 41, of Gas City was driving a 2004 Buick Century northbound on I-69 near the 262 mile marker when, for an unknown reason, the Buick traveled off the east side of the interstate and struck a tree.

Young and a passenger – Rachelle Riseden, 23, Gas City – were airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital with internal injuries.

Traffic was diverted off the highway, which was shut down to traffic.
