Teen shot along Rudisill Boulevard was ‘targeted,’ police say

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Police are investigating a Monday night shooting that left an 18-year-old with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the scene near the intersection of West Rudisill Boulevard and Arlington Avenue just before 6:45 p.m.

At the scene they found 18-year-old Tyriece Sutton down in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said initial findings indicate that Sutton was outside walking when he was shot.

Police said Tuesday that Sutton was likely targeted. It does not appear the shooting was related to any other shootings.

According to a release from Fort Wayne Police, the Homicide Team is investigating the incident. Police asked for any witnesses or anyone with any video to come forward.
