HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) — The serving of a search warrant turned into a standoff that lasted nearly four hours at a home in northeast Huntington on Thursday, according to the Huntington Police Department (HPD).

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the HPD attempted to execute a warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Sabine Street.

Police could be heard saying they have a search warrant for the home and that someone inside needed to exit the home.

Two individuals were taken into custody without incident, but the HPD said a third person, identified as Brandon Bryant, barricaded himself inside a crawl space under the home.

The HPD said Bryant is a known offender and is “known to carry weapons.”

At approximately 9:05 p.m., authorities were able to make contact with Bryant, who surrendered without further incident.

The incident remains under investigation by the HPD. They were assisted at the scene by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, the Fort Wayne Police Department, and several other surrounding agencies.
