FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Allen County Coroner’s office released the names of the four people killed inside a home along West Cook Road Monday night,
Allen County police and medics were called just before 9 p.m. to a home in the 7118 W. Cook Road, between O’Day Road and U.S. 33, on a report of shots fired in the home.

According to an Allen County Sheriff’s Department report, officers arrived and saw “multiple people” down in the home through a window. Inside the home, medics pronounced four people dead.
The victims are identified as Mark A. Long, 50, Lisa Renee Long, 45 and Mahala Long, 15. The gunman is identified as Samuel Mason Long, 20.
The Coroner’s office says Samuel took his own life. The three others died from multiple gunshot wounds and their deaths were ruled homicides.
The sheriff’s department report said there was “no reason to believe that the public is in any danger,” however, one of the men found dead was believed to be the suspect, Allen County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Troy Hershberger said.
A fifth person – identified by Hershberger as an elderly woman – who was inside the home was able to get out of the home unharmed. Hershberger said she was hiding in the bathroom during the violence.
Cpl. Adam Griffith, spokesman for the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, said Monday night that detectives were interviewing that woman to try to piece together what happened.
The sheriff’s department said its investigation was ongoing.
