FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man was shot in the leg Sunday night on Harrison Street, according to police, and a suspect has been charged with aggravated battery and possession of cocaine.

Police and medics were at the scene of a shooting Sunday night on Harrison Street.

The initial investigation found the incident happened just before 7 p.m. in the 5200 block of S. Harrison St. Police said the victim, who has not been identified, had non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

While police were investigating the shooting, they heard another man walking toward the scene. He was reportedly screaming and making a lot of noise.

Authorities said the man then admitted to shooting the victim. After a search, police found a handgun in his front pocket.

Police said the man, identified Monday as 32-year-old Willie Wilson, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of aggravated battery and possessing cocaine, both felonies.
