MARION, Ind. (WANE) A deputy with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest Sunday.

In a post on the department’s Facebook page, Sheriff Del Garcia says that Jalen Ward faces charges of strangulation and domestic battery following his arrest by the Marion Police Department and that an internal investigation is underway.

No other details of the arrest were provided.
