FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne Police are investigating a shooting that killed a teenager Thursday afternoon in a neighborhood near McMillen Park.
A shooting was reported in the 4500 block of McMillen Park Drive around 4 p.m. and police confirmed to WANE 15 a teen boy has died.
Police determined an altercation between two people took place in the area and ended in gunfire. The victim ran away but collapsed in a nearby yard. Neighbors saw him running before he collapsed and called 911.
Police at the scene found the boy with gunshot wounds. A gun was also found on the ground next to him.
FWPD are looking into leads but said there is no confirmed information on a suspect.
