Arrest made after man stabbed in gas station fight

Fort Wayne police have arrested a man connected to a stabbing in a gas station parking lot Thursday afternoon. 

According to Fort Wayne police, they were called to a Shell gas station at the 400 block of W. Jefferson Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Police say two men got into a fight when one took out a knife and stabbed the other. The victim was taken to the hospital by a witness. He was originally determined to be in critical condition but was upgraded to serious.

The other man fled the scene, but was quickly located by police and arrested. He has been identified as 35-year-old Charles Swagart and is facing a felony charge of Battery with a Deadly Weapon. Swagart is being held in the Allen County Jail.
