USF motivated by Morningside loss as they open spring practice

Sports

It’s like St. Francis woke up on the wrong Morningside of the bed.

Last year, the Cougars hopes of a three-peat were frozen out on a snowy day in Iowa. USF lost in the NAIA semifinal to Morningside and on Friday they began practice for a new season without any added pressure.

St. Francis returns quarterback Matt Crable for a second year. The main difference for this team will be on defense as they graduate key linebackers like Piercen Harnish and Eric Dunten

They open up the season on September 7th against St. Francis (Ill.).
