TinCaps boast young, talented team in 2018

tincaps arrive

With 11 teenagers on the roster the TinCaps enter 2018 with quite possibly one of the youngest lineups in all of professional baseball.

Back is manager Anthony Contreras, who will manage the Caps for the third season in a row.

The TinCaps are also lefty-heavy in the starting rotation, as five of their six starting pitchers are left handed.

That includes uber-prospect Mackenzie Gore, a 19-year old phenom ranked by many as the no.1 left-handed pitching prospect in the minors.

Returnees like outfielder Jack Suwinski, infielders Reinaldo Ilarraza Gabriel Arias, and pitchers Mason Thompson and Ben Sheckler will be expected to lead this time around.

The TinCaps open the season on the road at the Lake County Captains at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Ohio native Nick Margevicius will get the opening day nod on the hill.

Their home opener is set for Saturday at Parkview Field against the Captains at 6:05 p.m.
