Oral Roberts and Purdue Fort Wayne closed out a Summit League baseball series on Sunday (April 28) afternoon at Mastodon Field. The Golden Eagles defeated the Mastodons 14-0.
Sunday’s contest was 5-0 game entering the eighth when the Golden Eagles put the game away with a nine-run frame.
Oral Roberts scored only two runs off Purdue Fort Wayne Justin Miller (0-5). Miller threw 5.0 innings, with the two runs he allowed coming in on a two-out duck snort single by Drew Lowe in the third inning. Oral Roberts added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh before pulling away in the eighth.
The Mastodons’ best offensive threat came in the second when Garrett Mohler walked and Robert Young III doubled to left center.
Isaac Coffey is now 2-2 for Oral Roberts after going 7.0 innings. AJ Archambo threw the eighth for the Golden Eagles.
The Mastodons are back in action on Tuesday (April 30) in a non-league game against Butler. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
