Oral Roberts blanks Mastodons on Friday

Oral Roberts defeated Fort Wayne 14-0 on Friday (May 18) afternoon at a rainy and windy Mastodon Field.

Oral Roberts scored four runs in the second inning to take the lead following a scoreless first inning. Nick Roark totaled two hits and three runs batted in for the Golden Eagles in the seven-inning contest.

Shannon Baker and Zak Kellogg had hits for the Mastodons. Baker also had a walk. Dalton O’Boyle tossed a scoreless inning of relief. 

Josh McMinn went 5.0 innings for Oral Roberts. He is now 5-5 after earning the win. Fort Wayne starte Damian Helm tossed three innings. He finished the season with a 4-8 record.

Oral Roberts is now 34-18 (23-6 Summit League). The ‘Dons fall to 11-36 (7-22 Summit League). Saturday will be Senior Day for the ‘Dons. The start time of the rubber game of the series has been moved up to 11 a.m.
