The Fort Wayne Mad Ants (17-15) defeated the Long Island Nets (21-11), 140-119, at Barclays Center on Monday afternoon.

Fort Wayne set new season-high totals in points (140), field goals made (59), field goal percentage (60.8%) and 3-point field goal percentage (59.1%) in Monday’s matinée at the home of the Brooklyn Nets.

Monday was the first time the Mad Ants reached at least 140 points in a game since a 142-131 win at the Iowa Energy on Jan. 18, 2014.

The Mad Ants stole the advantage after a hook shot from Alize Johnson fell with 4:06 remaining in the first quarter, and never surrendered the lead the rest of the day. Johnson collected 23 points and 10 rebounds for his 17th double-double performance on the season.

Seven Mad Ants players finished in double figures, led by Rob Gray off the bench with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting to go along with five assists.

All five starters finished in double figures against the team with the best record in the eastern conference entering Monday morning.

Tra-Deon Hollins finished with a career-high 19 points and 10 assists for his third double-double this year.

Omari Johnson pitched in 11 points off the bench on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

Dzanan Musa led Long Island with 26 points, to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Alan Williams and Tahjere McCall ended the afternoon with 17 points each.

Drew Gordon checked out with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for Long Island, who still own a one-game lead over Lakeland for the best record in the eastern conference.

The Mad Ants return home for an 11 a.m. start time of their own on Thursday against the Capital City Go-Go. Thursday will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Long Island will travel to take on the Delaware Blue Coats on Thursday night.
