Komets fall at Newfounland in a shootout


Newfoundland’s Scott Pooley found the net for the game-winner in a shootout as the Komets fell to Newfoundland 3-2 in their first of three straight games against the Growlers.

J.C. Campagna had two goals – one in the first period and one in the third – to up his tally to a team-best 23 goals this season.

With the game tied 2-2 after regulation and a scoreless overtime it went to a shootout. In the seventh round Pooley beat Eric Levine. Komets captain Jamie Schaafsma could not convert his attempt, earning Newfoundland a win.

Eric Levine stopped 29-of-31 shots for the game.

The Komets face Newfoundland again on Saturday and Sunday.
