FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Summit City native Jaylon Smith returned to the football field last season with the Dallas Cowboys and promptly finished fourth on the team in total tackles. This upcoming season he's even healthier - and ready to step his game up to an elite level.
After missing his first season with Dallas due to a knee injury suffered during his final game at Notre Dame Smith returned to football field in 2017 playing with a brace on his drop foot injury. Smith says the brace will be off for 2018 and he is noticeably faster heading into training camp.
Smith and his older brother Rod, who also plays for the Cowboys, will host their second annual "Earn Your Stripes" camp for kids July 6 at Saint Francis.
