From Bishop D’Arcy Stadium to the NFL – that’s the dream for former Saint Francis standouts Nick Ferrer and Seth Coate.
The duo worked out for scouts from 11 NFL teams at Ball State’s pro day on Wednesday, hoping to leave a lasting impression.
Ferrer, the NAIA national player of the year this past season, helped guided USF to back-to-back national titles. He measured 6-foot-3, 226 pounds in Muncie. The quarterback says he thought he showed his arm strength and proved he’s mobile enough to handle NFL defenses.
Coate, who graduated in 2017 from USF, is looking for a second opportunity in the NFL. Last season he was invited to Arizona Cardinals rookie camp. He’s spent past year training for another shot and says he improved his 40-yard dash time in hopes of earning another shot.
