TERRA HAUTE, Ind. (WANE) – When the runners started to cross the finish line it wasn’t a matter of if Carroll was going to win the state title – but by how much.
The Chargers claimed the girls cross country state title for the first time in program history. They had three runners finish in the top 9 in the entire field.
Meagan Hathaway (18:30.2), Monroe Fruchey (18:30.5) and Abby Green (18:34.7) led the charge for Carroll.
Erin Strzelecki of Bishop Dwenger finished in second place overall.
For the boys, Concordia Lutheran took fourth place as a team. Snider’s Jesse Hamlin (15:47.5) finished in 6th place overall.
