CARMEL, Ind. (WANE) – He deserved it.

Bishop Dwenger’s Logan Ryan claims the IHSAA boys golf state title. He had to beat Center Grove’s Noah Williard in a playoff hole to earn the championship.

Per the IHSAA, Ryan is the first golfer from Fort Wayne to win the state title since Elmhurst’s Fred Link in 1941.

Homestead’s Garrett Willis finished in a tie for 6th place.

He’s the first medalist at state in 77 years. The last person to take this title was Fred Link of Fort Wayne Elmhurst in 1941.
