6-foot-7 righty Thompson ready for big season

A shoulder injury limited Mason Thompson to just seven starts with the TinCaps last season, but the 6-foot-7 righty is healthy and ready to roll in 2018.

The 20-year old Thompson was a third round draft pick by the Padres in 2016 and is rated as one of the top pitchers in their minor league system.

Last season in Fort Wayne he was 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA but flashed impressive stuff with 28 strikeouts in 27 innings.
