After five consecutive 2-8 seasons the Bruins are looking to break the mold in 2018 as Northrop enters season number five under coach Jason Doerffler.
Quarterback Bailey Meerzo returns for his senior season. The dual threat QB threw for 1,265 yards and 12 TDs last season and scampered fro 518 yards and 6 scores on the ground. His top returning target will be fellow senior Davieun Berry who snagged 33 receptions for 398 yards and 3 TDs last fall.
The offensive line returns two starters – tackle Nick Price and center Brad Poiry.
Defensively, the Bruins will be looking to improve a unit that gave up 41 points a game last season. RaShaad Moore, a senior, will anchor the line while Berry will be among the defensive backs counted on to make a difference.
The Bruins open the 2018 season August 17 on the road against Homestead.
