WISH-TV will host a debate with the three Republican candidates competing for the chance to face off against Democratic U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly in the general election. Ahead of that debate, we’re providing some background about each Republican candidate.

Rep. Luke Messer serves as a congressman for the 6th District of Indiana. He has been elected to three terms in Congress. Before that, he served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2003-2006.

Messer is from Greensburg. He attended Wabash College and Vanderbilt Law School.

You can visit Messer’s campaign website to learn more about his views on issues that include: jobs, national security, immigration, veterans, taxes and spending and the Second Amendment.

Our one-hour debate at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, will be televised live across the state from WISH-TV, Your Local Election Headquarters.
