FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Reporter Sara Wagner is leaving WANE.

Sara has joined the WHAS-ABC team in Louisville, Kentucky, as a multi-skilled journalist. She signed off for the final time at WANE on Thursday, March 24.

Sara joined the WANE family in the fall of 2013 after teaching elementary school with the Teach for America program in inner-city New Orleans. She graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in Mass Communication and minors in Political Science and Peace Studies.

While at WANE, Sara served as a producer before reporting fulltime. Her range of skills and passion for the work have made her a valuable asset to the WANE team.

Sara’s spirit and energy around the WANE newsroom and the community at large will be greatly missed.

Sara said she, too, will miss life here.

“I don’t even know where to begin. I have absolutely loved each and every moment of my time here in this incredible city at this amazing station. WANE will forever hold the most special place in my heart. The team here has become family. The people of this region have taught me so much. You all have shown me how wonderful this world of ours is and how blessed I am to meet you every day. Thank you so much for letting me share your stories and become a part of your lives. It has been an absolute honor and pleasure. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness, love, generosity, and support during these last two and a half years. It’s a phenomenal thing to have a job that doesn’t feel like work because you love it so much. That’s what reporting and journalism is for me, and that’s thanks to you all.”
