LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A turkey that escaped from a LaGrange County property was reportedly taken in a roadside grab-and-go, police said.

LaGrange County Sheriff’s deputies were called just before 11 a.m. Wednesday to a home at 0435 North C.R. 850 East in LaGrange after the homeowner reported one of his turkeys had been taken.

According to police, the homeowner said a couple of his turkeys had escaped from their enclosure and were running alongside S.R. 3 just north of U.S. 20 when a red 4-door Ford F150 pulled up next to them. A man then got out and grabbed a white turkey and drove off southbound on S.R. 3.

Anyone with information on the reported theft is asked to contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department at (260) 463-7491.
