FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A small SUV caught fire early Monday along Interstate 69.
Huntertown firefighters were called just after 8 a.m. to the 317 milemarker of the interstate, near the Union Chapel Road interchange, on a reported car fire. Engines arrived to find an early 90s SUV fully involved in fire, according to a Huntertown Fire Department report.
Crews were able toe extinguish the fire quickly. The vehicle was left completely destroyed.
The fire department said the vehicle owner’s and riders were able to safely exit the car without injury.
The Allen County Sheriffs Department restricted lanes of the highway while firefighters fought the fire.
