President Trump tweets Fort Wayne Navy SEAL charged with murder will move to a different prison

President Donald Trump says a Navy SEAL charged with murder will be moved to “less restrictive confinement.”

That tweet was about Fort Wayne native, Eddie Gallagher.

He made the announcement in a tweet Saturday morning saying, the move is due to Gallagher’s service to his country.

Gallagher is in a San Diego navy brig while he awaits trial.

He is accused of killing a wounded person in 2017 when he was stationed in Mosul, Iraq. He also allegedly shot at non-combatants and performed his re-enlistment ceremony next to a dead body.

Representative Ralph Norman discussed the case on “Fox and Friends” Friday,

The president tagged both Norman and “Fox and Friends” in his tweet.

Gallagher’s attorney says the timeline for moving Gallagher is “still being worked out.”

His trial is scheduled to begin in May.
