PAULDING, Ohio (WANE)- A mother is speaking out after her 21-year-old daughter was found dead in a Paulding apartment.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of 47-year old Frank H. Tracy Jr. Authorities believe he is responsible for the death of Hannah Fischer.
She was found just before 5 p.m. Tuesday inside an apartment at 119 W. Perry St. in Paulding. Fischer’s mother, Lori Wheeler, said her daughter had been living in the apartment with Tracy.
They recently started dating and Wheeler admits she had some concerns. Fischer and Tracy were 26 years apart and their relationship was moving pretty fast.
“It made me leery because of the age difference,” said Wheeler, but Hannah reassured her she was okay.”I asked her if there were any problems, if he was ever mean to her or anything. She said no, and that she was happy.”
Wheeler said she had no idea that her daughter was in danger. Tracy has a long history of run-ins with the law. His criminal history includes charges for drug possession and abduction, according to Paulding County records.
Wheeler was unaware of his criminal history, but on night of February 4th, she knew something was wrong.
“I knew something was odd when she didn’t call me on my birthday,” said Wheeler. “Her phone was out of minutes. I had a gut feeling something was wrong because I hadn’t heard from her.”
Wheeler decided to drive from her home in Montpelier to Paulding the following Sunday to check on her daughter. When she knocked on their door there was no answer. She eventually returned home.
She continued to call her daughter and Tracy, but neither of them answered.
Days later she learned the fate of her daughter.
“She was very good, go-lucky, witty, sassy and fun loving girl,” said Wheeler.”She loved art, she loved to play volleyball…any kind of sports. No parent should ever have to get the news, that their child was murdered.”
Now, Wheeler has only one mission: to get justice for Hannah.
The coroner’s office is expected to release cause of death as early as next week.
