MBB: Forbes, IPFW Slams League-Leading SDSU

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men’s basketball team led for over 34 minutes of game-play time, winning its fourth straight game with an 84-74 win over Summit League leader South Dakota State on Thursday evening.

The Mastodons – who now have the longest active win streak in the Summit League – last fell on January 21 at South Dakota State. The team scored 52 second-half points, and never trailed in the second stanza.

Steve Forbes scored 23 points, hitting 9-of-12 shots from the field and pulling down a team-best six rebounds. Max Landis scored an IPFW-career-high 19 points, going 5-of-8 from the field and making all seven of his charity stripe tries. Isaiah McCray drained four three-point baskets and a pair of free throws for 14 points, with Joe Edwards scoring a dozen points.

IPFW dished out 18 assists for the game against just nine turnovers, with Mo Evans dishing out five helpers and McCray four in the win.
