World War II veteran, Bob Heiny received his honorary degree from the University of Saint Francis on Saturday.
The 95-year-old was a high school basketball star, fought the Germans on the Eastern Front, and had a family. The one regret he said he had about his life was that ne never got a college degree.
That all changed Saturday afternoon as he received his honorary degree during the university’s commencement ceremony.
“This is fantastic at my age to get a diploma,” said Heiny, “My wife had two of them from St. Francis so I have time yet before I die to get another diploma.”
What’s next for Bob Heiny? He says he is going to play more golf and go to church.
