Primitivo Pass death investigation_281096

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A death investigation is underway at a northern Allen County home.

Police conduct a death investigation at a home at 4928 Primitivo Pass on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.

Police and medics were called around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday to a home in the 4928 of Primitivo Pass, inside the Sorrento neighborhood off Tonkel and Union Chapel roads. Dispatchers would only tell NewsChannel 15 that authorities were there on a death investigation.

Police at the scene would not say much else, other than to say a woman was dead inside the home. The initial call came in as a stabbing or cutting, police said.

The Allen County coroner was called to the scene. On Thursday, the coroner’s office identified the victim as 57-year-old Debra E. Recchia.

An autopsy showed that Recchia bled to death from a stab wound or cut. The manner of her death, though, is still pending further investigation, the coroner’s office said.
