Woman critically hurt after shooting north of Headwaters Park

Fort Wayne police are investigating after a woman was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday morning.

According to Fort Wayne Police Department Public Information Officer John Chambers, police were called to a hospital at around 4:30 am after a woman had arrived there suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

A short time after that, dispatchers received 911 calls about gunshots in the area of the 200 block of Third Street.

Investigators determined the woman may have been shot somewhere near the intersection of Fourth and Harrison.  Police went through the area looking for evidence and speaking to possible witnesses. 

The shooting victim has not been identified and she was only described as an adult female. 

So far there are no suspects and no arrests have been made according to Chambers.
