A woman was seriously injured in a two car crash in Steuben County Friday evening.
Police say it happened just after 5 p.m. on Country Road 500 South west of County Road 850 West in Salem Township in Steuben County.
Police say 45-year-old Michael Taylor of Angola was driving westbound on County Round 500 South when he hit a bump in the road, causing him to cross the center line. Police say he then collided nearly head-on with a car heading eastbound. That car was driven by 27-year-old Emilee Deming of Kendallville.
Police say Taylor was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags deployed in his car. He sustained only minor injuries. Deming was not wearing a seatbelt and the airbags also deploy in her car. She was flown from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital. She sustained severe injuries to her head, right arm and right leg.
Police say a 2-year-old child was also in the car with Deming. The child sustained minor injuries to his mouth and was treated at an area hospital.
Police say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. It is still under investigation.
