The National Weather Service has canceled a wind advisory for multiple counties in northeast Indiana.

The advisory was in effect for Adams, Allen Blackford, Defiance, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange,  Noble, Paulding, Steuben, VanWert, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley counties.

LaGrange County reported many trees down in the area and asks residents to use caution and allow for extra time. Wind speeds in LaGrange have been measured up to 55 mph.

Additional reports of trees down have come in from Whitley County.

The wind also caused multiple power outages throughout the area. Indiana Michigan Power reports over 8,000 people in the area were affected by outages. You can check the status of the outages here.

The power company says crews are working on restoring power and assessing the damage.
