FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)– The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is set to make its opening on Saturday at 9 am for its 58th season.
The opening day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a DJ in the plaza. Peacock Cafe will also be open early for morning beverages.
A local children’s choir will sing the national anthem, and the ribbon cutting will officially open the zoo at 9 a.m.
With all the festivities taking place for the Zoo’s newest season, here’s what’s new at the zoo.
In addition to a new exhibit in the central zoo featuring Saki monkeys, the front entrance has been repainted to better reflect their orange, yellow, and green color scheme. Right outside the Indonesian Rain Forest exhibit, new animals and interactive elements have been added.
“We can’t wait for guests to come out and celebrate spring at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo,” says Executive Director, Rick Schuiteman. “Guests are going to notice the biggest changes at the front entrance, and we can’t wait to see their excitement.”
