Wabash woman killed in motorcycle crash near Peru

Indiana State Police said a woman died and a man was hurt after a motorcycle crash on U.S. 24 near Peru Saturday morning.

Investigators said the crash happened on U.S. 24 near County Road 300 East, approximately two miles east of Peru.

Eric L. Kuhn, 34, Warsaw, was driving the motorcycle when the rear tire blew out, according to ISP. Kuhn and his passenger, Taylour L. Sparks, 25, Wabash, were both thrown from the bike.

Sparks was pronounced dead. Kuhn was air lifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. His injuries are unknown, according to ISP. 

Investigators said Kuhn and Sparks were not wearing helmets. 

Police said alcohol and drugs are not factors in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
