Fort Wayne has had two significant snow events in the last week. All that snow brought difficulties and headaches, but not for the Allen County Snow Angels.

They are a volunteer organization who respond to requests for help clearing snow from driveways, walk ways and so on and it’s all for free.

“There’s a couple people that I’ve helped,” said Adam Bridges, a Snow Angels volunteer. “The one was really grateful and kept trying to give me hot chocolate or stuff like that which the sweetness of helping a stranger and, you know, it’s not necessary, but you can tell when they’re grateful. That’s the reward is seeing that you’ve helped someone.”

If you need help clear snow from your property, you can post on the group’s Facebook page. The group simply asks for your zip code to get a general idea of where to go then a member will send you a direct message for more specific location information.

They are also looking for volunteers as the winter season continues. If you’re interested, they ask that  you contact them on their Facebook page.
