Local families braved the rain and chilly temperatures Saturday for Christmas on the Farm at Salomon Farm Park.
The Christmas celebration features wagon rides, bonfires and a holiday market. There were also dog-sledding demonstrations, crafts for the kids and plenty of food vendors.
Originally built in the late 1800’s Salomon Farm is now operated by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Eden Lamb is the Outdoor Recreation Supervisor for Fort Wayne Parks. “As we were getting ready this week” says Lamb, “I kept thinking about the family, the Salomons, that donated this farm to Fort Wayne.”
At the working farm, kids can come out a see the animals and learn about farming. The barn can also be rented out for large events from May to October.
