Viewer Debbie Kline Yannetta shared this poem with WANE 15 about the woes of winter. We had Dirk Rowley read it. Enjoy – and stay warm! Spring begins March 20!
Dreaming of sun and warm breezes blowing.
Instead, below zero and it’s still snowing.
Thinking of sand and a cool drink sipping.
Instead all my faucets are on and dripping.
Remembering the garden, planting and hoeing.
Instead, the next gas bill. What am I owing?
Daydreaming of bonfires and fireworks soaring.
Instead, bundled in blankets. The furnace is roaring.
Reminiscing of shorts and flops that are flipping.
Instead, no mail, after sliding and slipping.
Waiting for summer, heat, warmth, even sweating.
Instead watching the doppler with worry and fretting.
