Vietnam Veterans were honored at the Allen County War Veteran’s Memorial Shrine on Friday.
This event was held to recognize courageous men and women who fought in the vietnam war. It was the first year celebrating this event in Allen County.
Many Vietnam Veterans in attendance were emotional to see their brother’s and sister’s support.
Jim Olds, the commander of the Allen County Counsel of Veterans Organization, and a retired Sergeant Major was there.
“When I was in Vietnam I lost half of my company, and I’m so very happy to see so many Vietnam veterans who did come home, and who are out here today to celebrate this day.” Olds said.
The group’s next event will be May 24 and 25th, for the Rededication of the 40-acre shrine and museum.
