Local News

Police at Purdue Fort Wayne have asked for the public’s help to identify a suspect in a recent burglary of one of its concession stands.

Just before 11 p.m. on July 23, an audible alarm sounded at The Plex North at 1807 E. California Road, where Purdue Fort Wayne hosts its home soccer games. University police responded and found a concession stand at the soccer fields had been broken into, according to a report.

Surveillance video released by university police shows a man force his way into the concession area and take items. The man then escaped from the building before police arrived.

It’s not clear what was taken.

The suspect is described as a white man, mid to late 30s, dark hair, mustache, and glasses. The suspect could be seen wearing a florescent green and black T-shirt, dark pants, and a baseball hat at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Purdue University Fort Wayne Police Department at 481-6827 or 481-6699.
