Local News

It’s being called a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, Seussical is being put on by the University of Saint Francis School of Creative Arts.

The musical features all the of the Dr. Seuss favorites.  The plot follows the story of Horton Hears a Who, and every character is sprinkled in throughout.

You’ll be able to catch favorites like The Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, and of course, Horton.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.”

Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

You can catch Seussical the Musical Friday March 22nd until March 30th at the University of Saint Francis Robert Goldstine Performing Arts Center.
