Two drivers were airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital after their vehicles collided on a county road late Friday morning according to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash took place just before 11 a.m. on CR 400 South.
Josephine Housholder, 91, of Wolcottville was driving east in a Ford Escape when a Toyota Camry driven by Duane Donahue, 67, of LaGrange headed in the opposite direction crossed the center line and struck the Escape head-on.
Investigators aren’t sure why Donahue drove left of center.
Both Housholder and Donahue were taken from the scene by helicopter. Their conditions were not made available.
A seven-year-old girl in Housholder’s SUV was not injured in the crash. There were no passengers in Donahue’s car.
LaGrange and Noble County medics along with the Stroh Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
