A freight train struck a stopped semi on tracks just east of downtown Fort Wayne early Friday.
Around 7 a.m., authorities said a semi carrying a heavy load along Edsall Drive became grounded on the railroad tracks near Dwenger Road. A train came along and struck the semi’s trailer and toppled it, authorities said.
The driver of the semi was able to get out of his cab before the collision. No one was hurt.
It’s not clear what the semi was hauling. The wreckage was cleaned up before 11 a.m.
