An 18-month-old was killed Thursday when he was struck by a tractor at a Corunna property.
Police and medics were called to in the 1900 block of C.R. 13, just north of Corunna, on a report that a child had been hit by a tractor there.
According to a news release Friday, 18-month-old Oliver Stackhouse was with his mother, Ann Stackhouse, helping with chores when an unattended, non-running tractor rolled backward and ran over the baby boy.
His mother tried to stop the tractor from rolling farther, and her leg became pinned underneath, the release said. The tractor rolled some 10 feet before it came to a rest.
Young Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
