Baseball season is here, and that means it’s almost time for the TinCaps to return to Parkview Field for their 10th season. But before the team is back in action, the organization is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the field where all the action happens.
The idea of the annual Parkview Field Open House is to get people excited about a new season. The event features several free activities, including behind-the-scenes tours of the venue that has been rated as Minor League Baseball’s “best ballpark experience” four years in a row.
Fans can also enjoy many of the field’s fan-favorite food and drink items for half the regular price.
The kids can get in on the fun too, as they can play for free in the Sweetwater FUN ZONE.
The Orchard Team Store will also be open with the latest 2018 gear and apparel.
If you’re looking to get a jump on this year’s tickets, the ticket office will be open during the open house too. Fans can also order tickets at TinCapsTickets.com or by calling 260-482-6400.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Parkview Field in Downtown Fort Wayne.
The TinCaps will host a Meet the Team Night later in the week on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. Fans will be able to meet their favorite players and some new recruits.
It all leads up to the TInCaps home opener on Saturday, April 7. The first pitch against the Lake County Captains will be around 6:05 p.m.
Fans who attend the game will get a free TinCaps magnet schedule. There will also be a fireworks show after the game. The first 2,000 fans will get a free TinCaps lunch box.
