Two people were injured in a crash involving three vehicles in DeKalb County Tuesday morning after the driver of a car pulled out in front of a pickup truck according to police.
The crash took place just before 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of CR 35 and CR 68 according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
An investigation determined that Joshua Chapman, 24, of Spencerville, Indiana was driving west in a Ford Focus when after stopping at a stop sign on CR 68 he pulled out in front of a pickup that was heading south on CR 35.
The pickup hit the rear passenger side of the Focus and continued south before overturning and coming to rest.
The Focus continued traveling west and hit a Honda Pilot head-on.
The driver of the Honda was not hurt, however the pickup truck driver, Brenden Shuler, 17, of Auburn, was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a concussion and abdominal pain and released.
Chapman complained of abdominal pain and refused EMS transport.
DeKalb EMS and the Jackson Fire Department assisted at the scene.
