Three hospitalized after car spins out, crashes on bridge

Local News

Two cars crashed on a West Jefferson Boulevard bridge sending three people to the hospital.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday just west of the West Jefferson Boulevard and West Washington Boulevard split.  According to the Fort Wayne Police Officer Michael Joyner,  a car coming from downtown had just driven onto the bridge on West Jefferson when a PT Cruiser heading east spun out.  That PT Cruiser hit the other car in the rear-end.  Both cars ended up in the eastbound lanes.

Two people in one car were taken to the hospital serious condition.  A baby in that car was properly restrained and was not injured, said Officer Joyner.  The person in the PT Cruiser was taken to the hospital to be examined.

The crash remains under investigation.
