Indiana Michigan Power says they’re still working to restore electricity for thousands of customers. Saturday night’s storm knocked out power for more than 31,000 customers.
I&M says they’ve restored power for 22,000 customers, and 8,000 are still without power as of 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.
They say downed trees and limbs, as well as broken poles and downed wires, caused widespread outages.
Fort Wayne and Allen County’s power has been restored.
In total, 2,400 customers are without power in Indiana, and 5,500 are without power in Michigan. Berrien County, Michigan was affected the most.
I&M wants to remind you any type of wires down could potentially be energized and dangerous. You should stay away and keep from touching the wires.
