Teens hospitalized after crash in DeKalb County

Two teenagers were taken to the hospital after a crash in DeKalb County around 1:40 p.m. Saturday. 

Police were called to the crash west of Waterloo at the intersection of County Road 19 and U.S. Highway 6. 

Police say an SUV stopped at the intersection and then pulled out in front a car causing the vehicles to crash. 

The driver of the car, 17-year-old Payge Mynhier of Avilla, and her passenger, 18-year-old Amber Pliett of LaOtto were both taken to the hospital. Mynhier had injuries to her neck and knee and Pliett suffered from head pain. 

The driver of the SUV, 63 year-old Teresa Sunderland of Ashley, was not hurt.
