Sweet Breeze Fest Aims to Get People on the Water

Local News

Friends of the Rivers will host a special new festival aimed at getting people out on Fort Wayne’s rivers. It’s called Sweet Breeze Fest 2018.

The organization owns and operates Fort Wayne’s special canal boat, Sweet Breeze.

Thanks to a donation from Steel Dynamics, Inc., people will be able to take tours at a discounted price.

Tickets for the tours throughout the day are already sold out, but there are other activities people can check out as part of the event.

Sweet Breeze Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Headwaters Park West near the terrace gardens.

The Farmland Jazz Band will play music from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Face painting and balloon art is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Food trucks will also be at the event.

Sweet Breeze is expected to be out on the waters until mid-October. The boat is fully accessible. It leaves from the Headwaters Dock.
